For parents
What age is it for?
Our kits are hobbies for teens and adults, not playthings: they contain small parts. For a teen aged 14 and up, a Beginner-level kit makes a great first project. When a recommended age is known, it's listed on the kit's product page.
Will my teen really put their phone down?
We can't promise miracles, but a kit changes the game: instead of banning the screen, you're offering something concrete that moves forward with every session and lights up at the end. Pick a theme they genuinely love and a short kit to start with. Doing it together helps a lot.
Can we build it together?
Yes: two of you on the same kit, or one kit each, side by side at the same table. One for them, one for you.
The build
How long does it take to assemble a kit?
Allow 1 to 10 hours depending on the format—one evening for the Little Izakaya, several for a large house; the time is listed on each product page. You can build it in one go or in short twenty-minute sessions—that's the whole point.
Do I need special tools?
No. The pre-cut wooden pieces and the illustrated step-by-step instructions in English are all you need to get started. Glue and batteries for the LED are not included with the kit (see the product page for details): any standard wood glue will do. With book nooks and miniature houses, precision tweezers are even included for free.
How difficult is it?
It depends on the kit: each product page lists its level, from Beginner to Advanced. Beginner kits mostly take patience—if you can follow illustrated instructions, you can build them. Intermediate and Advanced kits have more pieces and a more detailed build.
Book nook, wooden model kit, miniature house: what's the difference?
The same pre-cut wood, and for book nooks and miniature houses alike, the same glue and the same LED. A book nook slides between two books and is viewed from the front; a miniature house sits on a piece of furniture and can be admired from every side, with several rooms and sometimes several floors; "wooden model kit" and "3D puzzle" are the generic names for all of these kits. Three pages to help you find your way: book nook kits, miniature house kits and 3D wooden puzzles to build.
The kit
Is the LED included?
Yes, every book nook and every miniature house includes an LED (warm on most scenes, multicolor on some kits like Neon Alley) to light up your scene.
What if a piece is missing or broken?
It rarely happens, but we've got you covered. Send us a photo of the problem along with your order number at contact@nooko.fr, and we'll send you the piece.
Gifts, shipping & returns
Can I give a kit as a gift?
Of course—it's one of the best ways to enjoy one: a gift that gets built and kept. For a teen who spends their evenings on their phone, it's also a gift that gives them a good reason to put it down.
How long does delivery take?
Your order arrives within 5 to 15 business days, depending on your country. You'll get a tracking number by email as soon as your package ships.
Can I return a kit?
Yes: 30-day money-back guarantee. You have 30 days after delivery to send back an unassembled kit in its original packaging, and we'll refund you. Full details are in our shipping policy and our refund policy.
