« Bois de bonne qualité, détails méticuleux, on se sent très fier une fois le travail terminé, un cadeau significatif pour les passionnés de création artisanale. »
One more lit window on your bookshelf.
A little neighborhood grocery, somewhere down an alley in Kyoto: red lanterns, a candy stall, a vending machine, an old pine tree by the entrance. The Kyoto Bazaar brings this scene into your home: a large miniature house you build yourself, lighting up like a real storefront when night falls.
A 478-piece wooden model kit on two levels
It's one of the most detailed scenes in the catalog: a shop on the ground floor with its stalls and signs, living quarters upstairs, each with its own lighting. Five to eight hours of building spread over several evenings, and a model you can admire from every angle once it's set on a piece of furniture: no books needed around it.
Who is it for? Anyone ready for a more ambitious project than a classic book nook. A collector's piece for a fan of Japanese culture. A centerpiece for a shelf or a bookcase.
Assembled dimensions: 17 × 12 × 10.5 cm

Your questions about The Kyoto Bazaar miniature house
Your questions about this kit
How long does it take to build?
Allow 5 to 8 hours, in one go or in short sessions.
Does it need books around it to look its best?
No. Unlike a book nook that slides into a row, this model stands on its own on a piece of furniture and can be viewed from every angle: the shop and the upstairs each have their own lighting, and there's no back side to hide.

How The Kyoto Bazaar miniature house compares to our other kits
With 478 pieces, The Kyoto Bazaar has as many pieces as The Cherry Blossom Parlor—and that's where the similarities end. Here, a 5 to 8 hour build at Intermediate level; there, a full weekend at Advanced level. So it's the quickest way to take on a kit of this size without devoting two whole days to it. For the longer version, with the interior and garden lit separately, there's The Cherry Blossom Parlor.
A shop to build. A light to switch on, on every floor.
This model is part of our miniature house kits and our Japanese book nooks. In the same collection, discover The Cherry Blossom Parlor next, the teahouse under the sakura trees. It's also one of our multi-story wooden model houses and, thanks to its level, part of our selection of model kits to build.
