« J'ai trouvé ce kit fantastique, avec des instructions claires, difficile à assembler mais très satisfaisant. Le résultat final est exceptionnel. Assemblé en 8 heures. »
One more lit window on your bookshelf.
Late March in Kyoto: the cherry trees release their first petals to the wind, and behind the shoji screens, a traditional shop softly lights up. Sakura Rain brings this scene to your bookshelf: a miniature book nook you build yourself, glowing with a warm light when night falls.
A Japanese book nook under the cherry blossoms
This is the scene that changes the most between day and night: from the front, the pink petals take center stage, and when the LED comes on, the shop window lights up behind them like the end of a spring day. 258 pieces, beginner level, three to five hours of building: one of our most detailed kits for a first build.
Who is it for? A calm, hands-on hobby for your evenings: hands busy, mind at ease. An original gift you build and keep. A cozy mood for a shelf, once evening comes.
Assembled dimensions: 22 × 16.5 × 9.2 cm

Your questions about the Sakura Rain book nook
Your questions about this kit
How long does it take to build?
Allow 3 to 5 hours, in one go or in short twenty-minute sessions.
Isn't 258 pieces a lot for a beginner level?
No, and that's on purpose: it's the most detailed book nook that's still rated beginner. The challenge doesn't come from the techniques (pre-cut pieces, nothing to cut or paint) but from the number of steps. The cherry petals account for a good share of the count: lots of small, repetitive pieces, not technical assemblies. That's why the build still fits into 3 to 5 hours despite the 258 pieces.

How the Sakura Rain book nook compares to our other kits
258 pieces: it's the most detailed book nook that's still rated beginner. That's as many pieces as The Cherry Blossom House, except that one is rated advanced and takes a whole weekend, whereas Sakura Rain is done in 3 to 5 hours. Compared with Kyoto Alley and its 223 pieces over the same build time, you gain detail without changing level. It's the natural next step once you've enjoyed a first Japanese kit. Compare it with The Cherry Blossom House.
A world to build. A light to switch on.
This kit is part of our Japanese book nooks and, for its cherry blossoms, our nature book nooks. In the same collection, discover the Little Izakaya next, the lantern-lit tavern in a starter size. You'll also find it on our diorama kits page, and alongside all our wooden kits on the 3D wooden puzzles page.
