A tram running along the river beneath the cherry trees, and a mirror that stretches the street.

A green tram runs along a river lined with pink cherry trees, passengers at the windows, a white bridge, petals on the water: a Japanese spring to slip between your books. At the back, a mirror doubles the depth of the scene, and an LED lights up with a single touch.

A Japanese book nook to build, with a sense of depth

The 340 pre-cut wooden pieces come together in four to six hours: the canal and its bridge, the facades, the tram and its passengers, then the cherry trees. The mirror at the back reflects the buildings, so the street seems to carry on behind your books. In the evening, one touch on the switch turns the scene into a night light.

Who's it for? A Japan lover who wants a corner of their bookshelf that lights up. A reader of manga or Japanese novels. A gift you build.

Assembled dimensions: 18.5 cm wide, 10 cm deep, 24.2 cm tall.

What's inside the Sakura Tram book nook kit

What's in the box
  • All the pre-cut wooden parts
  • The LED, its battery box and the touch switch
  • Illustrated step-by-step instructions in English

Runs on 2 AAA batteries (not included). Precision tweezers come free with your kit. You'll just need regular wood glue (not included). To use it well, read our guide to glue for wooden model kits. Recommended for ages 14+.

Your questions about the Sakura Tram book nook

Your questions about this kit

How long does it take to build?
Allow four to six hours. You can build it in one go or over several evenings, following the instructions step by step.

How does it light up?
With a single touch on the switch, connected to a battery box that runs on 2 AAA batteries (not included). No cable to run through your bookshelf.

What is the mirror for?
Placed at the back of the scene, it reflects the buildings and makes the street seem to go on. That's what gives so much depth to a book nook only 10 cm deep.

Très bien. Un peu compliqué à construire, mais ok

C
