A desk-sized sailboat, built in one evening, with no glue or tools.
Our smallest boat: an old-time sailing ship in light plywood, with sails cut from fine wooden slats, fore and aft castles, engraved flags and an oval base. The parts pop out of the sheets and slot into one another, no glue needed.
A small wooden model ship kit you can build in one evening
You pop out the parts, gently curve the sails as shown in the instructions, then slot the hull frames in one by one. The wood stays natural, unpainted: a light, graphic piece, perfect on a desk, a bookshelf or a windowsill.
The same model comes in two sizes: the Small (56 pieces, 15 cm tall) and the Large (18 cm tall), which makes more of a statement on a shelf.
Who is it for? For a first try, for a small gift that's sure to please, or to round out a shelf that's already well stocked.
Dimensions once built: Small: 16.5 × 5 cm footprint, 15 cm tall. Large: 20 × 7.6 cm footprint, 18 cm tall.
